Yesterday evening Manchester held a candlelight vigil on World Aids Day. The beacon of hope in Sackville Gardens in the heart of central Manchester is the UK's only permanent monument to celebrate the lives of those touched by HIV and AIDS. This year we have been asked to remember especially women and girls throughout the world. Now 1 in 150 people worldwide are HIV positive. It is vitally important to practice safe sex and to educate others to do the same. Photo © mikeajtaylor VirtualTourist
