In Lviv, a monument dedicated to the victims of AIDS was unveiled

At the intersection of the streets of Japan and Efremov in the square, there now will be a monument in the form of a composite ribbon. It is known throughout the world as a symbol of the fight against AIDS. Lviv is the second Ukrainian city after Kiev, where such a monument was installed.

"This is a symbol of hope that, in the first place, HIV infection will be taken under control, a symbol of hope that people living with AIDS will receive treatment and will live, as well as a memory symbol for those who have already died, died of the fact that there was no medicine, died from the fact that there was no understanding and compassion," says the head of the Coordinating Council "All-Ukrainian Network of PLWH" Vladimir Zhovtyak.
It should be noted that Ukraine occupies one of the highest positions in the world in terms of the incidence and spread of the immune deficiency virus. Today, more than 240,000 HIV-positive people are registered at AIDS centers.
