On Sainte Catherine we meet our friend Michiel who lives in Amsterdam as well. He accompanied us to see Parc de l'Espoir where we discovered this wonderful poem...

In memory of all the loved ones to whom we simply forgot to say: I LOVE YOU

Love me now
If you are ever going to love me

Love me now
While I still can hear and understand
The sweet and tender feelings which flow from your sincere affection.

Love me now
While I still cling to life. Please don't wait until I'm gone
To have your sweet feelings chiselled on an ice-cold marble-slab,
Tender legacies that I will never be able to read anyway.

Love me now
Please tell me now
While I still can understand the simple meanings of words,
Which describe your inner feelings.

Love me now
If you wait until I'm still sleeping never to awaken,
To listen to your beating heart now broken
Split in two by the reality of my eternity.
An abyss will separate us forever
As a fiord dug after centuries of endless waiting.
Then, I won't be able to listen
To the sound of the waves of your tears breaking
With force on the beaches of life, of my life which will never be again.

Love me now
Not tomorrow to then regret not having spoken earlier
These three simple words: I LOVE YOU.
So if you love me, even just a little,
Let me know while I can still hear you, see you
While I can still smell you, touch you, recognize you
And still feel your deep inner vibrations.

You know, a simple visit, even a juvenile peek
Are enough for me to read in your heart.
This way, I will be able to depart in peace with a treasure I will forever
Cherish instead of leaving empty handed, my head and my heart
Void and broken by the wait of your true inner feelings.

Love me now while I'm still alive.
Love me now just simply tell me
With your eyes, with your heart, but simply
Love me now, Love me now.

Aime-moi maintenant. Aime-moi maintenant.
