Monument to Red Ribbon
'commemorative sympathy and support for a future without HIV and AIDS' was inaugurated on June 1, 2001 near the Kiev- Pechersk Lavra on the wall of the Institute of Epidemiology, dealing with HIV / AIDS for decades. It is here that died from the very first ailment ill at the end of 1980.
Plate on the monument : This sculpture was inaugurated on June 1, 2001 on the occasion of a future special session of the UN General Assembly devoted to HIV / AIDS , due to the organizational efforts of UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador - Mr. Walid Harfouch, the United Nations and Green Party of Ukraine, represented by Oleg Shevchuk.
