In Odessa, the memory of those who died of AIDS was honored
On May 17, the Old Bazaar Square in the center of Odessa hosted an action on the occasion of the World Day of Remembrance for people who died of AIDS. According to the mayor's office, the citizens planted flowers and cleaned the area around the monument to the victims of HIV infection. In addition, during the action everyone could get free testing and find out their HIV-status within 15 minutes.

It should be added that this year's Memorial Day was held under the motto "A cure for indifference": according to the organizers, it is understanding and caring that can stop the AIDS epidemic. In total, in 2018, more than 20 thousand residents of Odessa were tested (such free screening with rapid tests is organized in all city centers of primary health care, hospitals and antenatal clinics).
