A blanket sewn from pieces of clothes of those who died of AIDS will be shown to the residents of Chelyabinsk on May 20
The action will take place on AIDS Memorial Day.
On May 20 in Chelyabinsk the annual action will take place. Charitable Foundation "Source of Hope" in the framework of the project "Names" will show residents and guests of the city quilt - a large canvas, which is sewn for several years from pieces of clothes of people who died of AIDS.

The Center for AIDS and Infectious Disease Prevention and Control defines the project as follows: "'Names' is the name of an international movement that aims to make sure we don't forget the people the epidemic has taken from us. In memory of them, "Names" is creating a memorial "QUILT"." In English-speaking countries, the word quilt is a patchwork quilt. According to tradition, it was sewn by the whole family, sometimes together with neighbors and acquaintances, gathering in a circle around the table and creating sometimes amazingly beautiful canvas. I don't know what was more important-the quilt itself or the atmosphere of fellowship, sharing, conversation, and memories that accompanied the process.

With the emergence of AIDS, an old English tradition took on a new meaning. This patchwork quilt became a symbol of shared grief, telling of the fates of people who had experienced the burden of the disease. In Russia, the movement was supported in 1993. The action will take place in Chelyabinsk on Revolution Square from 11.00 till 14.00.
