In the course of the Commemoration of the Tainted Blood Tragedy which was launched on 26 November 2007, the Newfoundland and Labrador chapter of the Canadian Hemophilia Society planted a Tree of Life at their annual summer camp location at Lion Max Simms Memorial Camp in Bishops' Falls. The memorial tree most probably is a northern red oak, Quercus rubra.
