On World AIDS Day 1st December 1990, the Mayor of Cairns and the Director of Community Health planted two trees, one for those who have died of AIDS and one for those who are living with AIDS.
The location is most probably the Cairns Esplanade Healing Gardens opposite the Cairns Hospital.
