It was Enrico Barzaghi, one of the first and most important active members of ASA, Associazione solidarietà AIDS Onlus, who had the idea to join the Quilt Project and since then he has always been in charge of the project. The exhibition took place in front of the Scala theatre in Milan, and on that occasion Major Pillitteri participated in the happening signing Carlo's quil who had died in the meantime. Since then, the quilt has always been kept by ASA inside the association. The exibitions have taken place, over the years, in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele and in the latest years in Loggia dei Mercanti Square.Often quilts are requested by other towns such as Florence, Perugia, Bari, Ravenna, to be exhibited there. Some Italian quilts have also been exhibited abroad, for instance at the International Memorial Quilt display in Washington 1996. Presently, we have about 50 quilt blocks, made of 8 panels each.
