In the course of the Commemoration of the Tainted Blood Tragedy which was launched on 26 November 2007, the Nova Scotia chapter of the Canadian Hemophilia Society planted a Tree of Life at the Canadian Blood Services Processing Centre in Dartmouth.
The memorial tree most probably is a red-leaved Norway maple, Acer platanoides 'Crimson King'.
