In the course of the Commemoration of the Tainted Blood Tragedy which was launched on 26 November 2007, the Nova Scotia chapter of the Canadian Hemophilia Society planted a Tree of Life on St. Paul's Hospital roof garden in Vancouver.
The memorial tree is a red emperor maple, Acer palmatum 'Blood Good'.
