In the course of the Commemoration of the Tainted Blood Tragedy which was launched on 26 November 2007, the Prince Edward Island Chapter of the Canadian Hemophilia Society planted a Tree of Life on the grouds of the Legislative Assembly near the Service Memorial Fountain.
The memorial tree is a northern red oak, Quercus rubra.
