without names
On 19th May 1991, as part of the International AIDS Candlelight Commemoration, the AIDS Memorial Hungary was unveiled by the Hungarian PLUSS Association in the park of the St. Ladislaus Hospital (Szent László Kórház) in Budapest. The memorial consists of a memorial stone and a memorial tree. On the third Sunday of May, people living with HIV and their supporters remember those they have lost, as well as celebrate the lives of people living with HIV. The AIDS Memorial Hungary has been adopted as a place of remembrance, community mobilization, and solidarity.
In the last couple of years, the commemoration has been hosted and coordinated by the Retropajzs Association for People Living With HIV (Retropajzs Egyesület a HIV-vel élőkért).
